About Us
I was first introduced to woodworking by my dad and grandfather. Their workshops were mostly hand tools, with old table saws as the workhorses. We spent many years refurbishing boats for fishing off the coast of Washington state, and I was fascinated with the workmanship that went into these boats, and the beauty of the natural wood. Fast forward to today, and I have my own shop. I still use an old table saw, but have also expanded my shop to include more powered tools like a lathe, and computer controlled router (CNC).
Whether I'm turning a segmented bowl on the lathe, or creating intricate designs in wood on the CNC, I'm still fascinated with the wonder of natural wood, and the patterns that can be created with the different species, like walnut, cherry, ash, maple, and the more exotic woods from far away places.
I especially enjoy the beauty of the local woods, like honey locust, that grow in our own backyards. They are my first choice to work with when I have the chance because of the stories they can tell - if given a chance!
I love creating my own designs in the wood, and helping other people create their own personal work of art. Bring me your ideas, and together we'll create something beautiful!
